Daniel Schwanen
Background
Daniel Schwanen is an experienced economist, project leader, author and advisor specializing in economic growth and international issues. He holds degrees in economics from the Université de Montréal and Queen's University in Kingston.
Prior to joining CIGI, Mr. Schwanen held senior research positions at the CIBC, the C.D. Howe Institute and the Institute for Research on Public Policy, where he researched and formulated policy recommendations on trade and investment policies, European and North American regional integration, federalism and the economics of climate change policies.
Mr. Schwanen is an alumnus of the Leadership Programme of Japan, the US International Visitor Program and Australia's Special Visitor Programme.
