The world is changing, dramatically, before our eyes, and most of that change is being driven by Asia. We in the West forget all too easily, if we ever really knew, that China and India not being major powers is the exception in history. As observed by CIGI International Advisory Board of Governors member, Kishore Mahbubani, Asians have long been regarded in the West as just consumers of world history, reacting tactically and, with the obvious exception of Japan, defensively to the surges of Western commerce, power and thought.
